New York City's Meatpacking District Gets a Floral Makeover With L.E.A.F's Second Annual Festival of Flowers
A tribute to flower power and world-class design at its finest, L.E.A.F's Festival of Flowers returned with a bang to New York City from June 10 - 12, 2022. The three-day affair featured a series of floral installations—coupled with hands-on classes, pop-up shops and epicurean experiences—that embellished plazas and various storefronts in Manhattan's historic Meatpacking District.
Inspired by internationally-renowned flower shows in Europe, L.E.A.F, in partnership with the Meatpacking Business Improvement District, was created to unite local talent and over one million blooms (yes, we said million) for a citywide festival that supports businesses from all industries. Native New Yorkers and tourists alike flock to bask in the beauty of the show's spectacular floral displays, many of which have been designed by some of the top names in floristry: Lewis Miller Design, McQueens Flowers, East Olivia and The Flower Witch, to name a few. To further immerse attendees in the atmosphere of florabundance, the event also partners with neighborhood shops, hotels and restaurants to offer brand activations and other activities.
This year, with support from FTD (Florists' Transworld Delivery), Pernod Ricard and TF Cornerstone, the festival also included a European-style flower market. Located on Washington Street between Little West 12th and Gansevoort Street, it featured 30 florist retailers from across the city.
